NOYZ privacy policy

Effective 30 October 2026

NOYZ has no sign-up and no in-app ads. Your saved sounds, settings, playlists and imported audio stay on your devices. NOYZ does not upload recordings. Limited pseudonymous information supports purchases, usage analytics and measurement of NOYZ’s own Apple Ads campaigns. If you choose to send a bug report or feedback, your message and any technical details you include go to my feedback service. NOYZ does not sell your data.

This policy covers NOYZ’s first release, which is being prepared for the App Store.

What stays on your devices

Generated sounds play on your iPhone. Sound settings, favourites, saved sounds, timers, focus settings, alarm settings, playlists and imported audio are stored locally. NOYZ does not send their names, contents or listening history to analytics, RevenueCat or the feedback service automatically. Your iPhone’s backup settings may include local app data in Apple backups. Files you choose in Files remain subject to their original storage provider.

Widgets, Live Activities, Siri, Shortcuts and a paired Apple Watch can use the information needed to show playback or control it. Apple processes system features under Apple’s privacy policy. The wake alarm uses Apple’s AlarmKit after you grant permission.

Purchases and Pro access

Apple handles payments; I do not receive your card details or Apple Account credentials. NOYZ uses RevenueCat to verify purchases and restore Pro. RevenueCat receives an automatically generated pseudonymous customer identifier, purchase and entitlement information, and app and device context such as app version, iOS version and store country. This supports purchase verification, access to Pro, fraud prevention, sales reporting and measurement of NOYZ’s own advertising. NOYZ does not provide RevenueCat with your name, email or imported audio. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Apple Ads attribution

NOYZ obtains a standard attribution token through Apple’s AdServices framework and sends it to RevenueCat. RevenueCat asks Apple whether an installation followed a NOYZ Apple Ads campaign. Apple may return campaign, ad group, keyword, country or region and conversion information. This helps connect campaign results with purchases. It does not add ads to NOYZ. NOYZ does not collect Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. See RevenueCat’s Apple Ads documentation.

Usage analytics

NOYZ uses TelemetryDeck to understand app sessions and the Pro purchase flow. Signals include a hashed installation identifier, app and device context such as app version, iOS version and device type, and a fixed list of events such as opening the Pro sheet, starting or completing a purchase, purchases that do not complete or fail, and restoring a purchase. TelemetryDeck does not store IP addresses. NOYZ does not supply a name, email or a shared RevenueCat customer identifier to TelemetryDeck.

Analytics never include audio, recording names, saved sound names, playlist contents, listening history, feedback messages, receipts or anything you type. See TelemetryDeck’s privacy policy. Pseudonymous information can still relate to an installation or purchase; no named account is required for that to be possible.

Bug reports, feedback and support

In Settings, you can choose Report a bug or Send feedback. Nothing is sent by these forms until you tap Send. A report contains your message, whether a bug is reproducible, the app it came from and the time received. Technical details are optional: app version and build, iOS version, device model, locale and preferred language. You can switch them off before sending.

The forms do not ask for your name or email, attach files, or automatically include your audio or saved sounds. Your message contains whatever you choose to type, so please leave out sensitive personal information. The forms cannot receive a reply. If you email support, I receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send so I can help.

Reports go to StudioFeedbackService, my shared service hosted on Google Cloud in London, United Kingdom. To prevent abuse, NOYZ sends Apple-signed proof that you own a copy of the app. The service verifies it and stores a protected, app-specific identifier with the report. This can link reports from the same app ownership record without asking for Apple Account credentials. Pro is not required and RevenueCat is not used for this check. Reports are used for support and improving the app, not advertising.

Google Cloud processes reports and technical information needed to host and protect the service. Connection and security logs may include an IP address and request time. See Google Cloud’s privacy notice.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your devices until you remove it or delete the app. Deleting NOYZ does not remove original files elsewhere, backups, or copies you have shared. You control those through the relevant app or storage service.

Production feedback is normally scheduled for deletion 730 days after receipt; Sandbox and TestFlight feedback after 14 days. Automatic cleanup can take additional time. Requested early deletion has a seven-day waiting period after it is scheduled. Database recovery copies and limited security or deletion-audit records can remain separately from the report text.

Purchase and attribution records support restoring access, refunds, fraud prevention and campaign measurement. Usage analytics support comparisons across app releases. These records do not disappear when you delete NOYZ; retention also depends on provider terms, legal obligations and deletion procedures. There is no single deletion period for all providers. Support emails are kept while needed to resolve requests, handle follow-up or meet legal obligations.

Email paul@paulcalver.com to request access, correction or deletion. For feedback, include the reference shown after sending. I may need enough information to locate a pseudonymous record and verify the request. I will explain if a record cannot be matched to you or must be retained for a legal obligation.

Your rights and contact

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. In the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Close a feedback form without tapping Send to send no report.

Website measurement

I count clicks on download links for my apps to understand which pages help people find the app. Each event contains only a fixed campaign name; Cloudflare adds the event time. This counter sets no cookies and stores no IP address, referrer, device identifier or personal content. Counts are best effort and may be sampled. They are not unique people or installs. The browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable these click events. Cloudflare also processes requests to host and protect this website. Separate Cloudflare Web Analytics excludes EU visitors. Cloudflare privacy information.
